Each Softgel contains:
CONJUGATED LINOLEIC ACID
800.00 mg
PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is a mixture of positional and geometric isomers of linoleic acid which occurs in dairy products and in meat. CLA has been shown in animal models to be a powerful anticancer compound, which is probably related to it’s effect on prostaglandin E2 synthesis (Cancer Letters 1998, 127 : 15).
It has been shown to suppress the growth of various cancers including prostate and breast cancer in humans. This has been linked to it’s stimulating effects on the immune system.
CLA has also been shown to lower the amount of food fats stored in the body whilst maintaining muscle protein and for this reason is widely used in slimming programmes. It achieves this by slowing down the metabolic rate. CLA also reduces body fat by enhancing insulin activity so that fatty acids and glucose can pass through muscle cell membranes and away from fat tissue where they would otherwise be deposited.
It has also been shown to reduce cholesterol and triglycerides in humans thus reducing the atherosclerosis risk.
INDICATIONS Persons with a history of certain types of cancer, obesity.
CONTRA INDICATIONS None.
WARNINGS Persons sensitive to supplements containing oils such as fish oil should also avoid CLA. Always consult your health professional if you are seriously ill.
INTERACTIONS None known
PREGNANCY AND LACTATION Although CLA is found in food, there is insufficient reliable informationabout it’s safety when used in medicinal amounts during pregnancy and lactation; avoid using.
